At the Association of Applied Life Sciences (AALS), our mission is the belief that science should serve people—and that means putting people first in everything we do. Our team is made up of high school students who believe this oragnization can shape a healthier, more sustainable world.
Tanvi Bhalla
Hi, my name is Tanvi Bhalla, and I am the co-founder and President of the Association of Applied Life Science (AALS). I am currently an incoming sophomore attending Basis Independent Silicon Valley. At AALS, I aim to promote STEM opportunities and experiences to students interested in life sciences. I'm especially interested in the intersection of computer science with biology and the social impact of combining the two. I hope to enable the next generation of students with the tools needed to explore their passions.

Anne Chu
Hi, my name is Anne Chu. I am the co-founder and President of the Association of Applied Life Science. I am currently an incoming sophomore at Basis Independent Silicon Valley. I am interested in biology and I plan on going into the medical field in the future. My goal as a member of AALS is to help students explore and love life sciences. Tanvi and I will organize opportunities for student to connect together and we aim for students to have a deeper love for STEM. Through AALS, I want to make life sciences exciting and more accessible to those interested and I hope to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of students in STEM.
